Knowing how to choose the right words
The engineering of prompting, that is, providing instructions to AI, is a crucial aspect of both machine learning of generative AIs and the creation of high-quality content.
This is done through language models. From these models one is then able to generate textual, graphical, audio and video content based on the instructions given to them, so never before has it been more necessary to know how to choose the right words.
Prompting Engineering Short Guide
1. What is a prompt?
In Generative AI systems, the term “prompt” refers to a string of text or a set of inputs that are provided to the model to generate an output. The prompt provides the model with a specific context or request, and the model generates a response or work based on this input.
2. Prompt Elements
In general, a prompt can have any of the following:
- Instructions
- Question
- Input data
- Examples
3. Underrated uses of ChatGPT
- Translations — It manages to provide better results than Google Translate
- Books — ChatGPT has a vast library knowledge you can use it both to summarize books of your interest and to get recommendations for new ones.
- Travel Guide — When used for major cities it can give useful insights and help in creating itineraries based on specific interests
- Consultant — Taking advantage of the “act as…” prompt can make ChatGPT a consultant for anything
- Summarize — Make synopses of long texts in different formats (n-dots, tweets, etc…)
- Compile Tables — Specifying that you want the output in a table format allows you to have a table already formed, don’t go overboard with too long lists otherwise it may crash.
- Shopping Tips — ChatGPT can also be used as a personal shopping assistant to get new product recommendations, knowledge is not lacking.
- Cookbook — From now on you will have a personal chef by your side I talked about it here
